Step 2 – Disciples University explained…
Disciples → One who follows Jesus, learns God’s Word and tell others what he has learned… in other words he fishes for others to follow Jesus, learn God’s Word and fish for others, who … etc.
University → God’s Universal Truth applied to every diverse subject (Uni–versity, not like the Multi–versities of today).
We know that Universities do not believe in universals.
We understand the times, the battle of ideas, and the traps.
We understand two battles: The Worldview War and the Genesis War.
Step 3 – Two Major Battles
Followers of Christ live in a war zone. A cube illustrates the battles.

3 Distractions: the World, the Flesh, the Devil.
3 Decisions: to follow, to learn, to fish
7 things Jesus claimed about himself.
Battle 1 – Marx and his friends

The “isms” of Secularism ” which means living a life without God.
Naturalism → removes God from reality.
Materialism → says only matter is real.
Collectivism → subordinates the individual to the group.
Communism → abolishes property and class.
Socialism → reduces people to products of society.
Marxism → views history as class conflict.
Wokeism → reframes Marxism as identity and social justice.

Battle 2 – Compromise like a Swarm of Locusts

Devours confidence in Genesis through “deep time” and evolution.

Step Four – How we learned …
Before Universities
-
12th–13th Centuries: Universities emerged from cathedral schools — first in Bologna, Paris, and Oxford. They were recognized as universitas (corporate bodies of teachers and students).
-
Church Support: Popes and bishops granted charters, protections, and privileges to these institutions. The Church also provided much of the funding and oversight.
-
Curriculum: Studies began with the trivium (grammar, logic, rhetoric) and quadrivium (arithmetic, geometry, music, astronomy), then advanced to philosophy and theology, with law and medicine as specialized fields.
Then Universities flow downstream from a Biblical worldview.
Harvard (1636): “Truth for Christ and the Church.”
Yale (1701): correcting Harvard’s drift.
Princeton (1746): Great Awakening influence.
Brown (1764): rooted in biblical principles.
Dartmouth (1769): training missionaries and ministers.
Today, the voice of Charlie Kirk echos warnings to students that universities no longer mean God’s universal truth applied to all subjects. Instead, they have become multi-versities – teaching fragmented “truths” without God.
Step Five – How do we fight?
Not in anger, but as Jesus showed: with the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23).
Step Six – Small Teams with a “153” Fishing Strategy
1 leader develops
5 trained disciples who use a
3 part – W.A.G. approach.
This grassroots approach is how we impact the culture for Christ. We took the number “153” from John 21. They caught 153 Large Fish.
Thank you for your prayers. Welcome to Disciples University.
